Hans-Jürgen Guido
Following advanced level examinations at school in Regensburg, Hans-Jürgen Guido, who was born in 1965, studied physics at the University of Chicago. He then went to Harvard University in Boston, USA, where he completed a Masters of Engineering postgraduate degree in materials physics. During this time he also took the opportunity to acquire a grounding in business management in courses at the nearby Harvard Business School.
After completing his studies in 1990 he joined General Electric Aircraft Engines in Boston as a trainee on the two-year Manufacturing Development Programme, with management and engineering responsibilities in production. In 1993 he returned to Germany to join Bosch in Stuttgart as a development engineer working on diesel injection systems.
1995 saw Hans-Jürgen Guido return to Neutraubling, where he took over the position of sales director in the family-owned company Maschinenfabrik Guido GmbH. In 1999 he took over the management of company, initially jointly with his father Jürgen Guido, before becoming sole managing director in 2003.
On a personal level he is dedicated above all else to his family of his wife and their four children, born between 1995 and 2006, and he also enjoys sailing and skiing.
Cornelia Vogel
After leaving school in Neutraubling in 1975 with an intermediate school leaving certificate, Cornelia Vogel went on to complete two years of training with Maschinenfabrik Guido GmbH to qualify as an industrial business management assistant. Following qualification in 1977 she was taken on in the company’s accounting department, with responsibility mainly for accounts receivable and complaints handling.
From 1981 she dedicated the next few years completely to her young family, before the desire for recognition outside family life drew her back to work.
After a 10-year spell of self-employment running a business supplying school and office supplies in Bogen, plus several positions as a commercial assistant, accounts clerk and secretary, Cornelia Vogel re-joined Maschinenfabrik Guido GmbH in September 1999, more or less as a homecomer, where she has been executive assistant ever since.
Apart from her work she is dedicated above all to her family and friends, closely followed by her passion for horses and riding, singing in a pop and gospel choir and an interest in psychology.
